Does offline marketing work for events?
Yes, it works. At the Molan Los 90 festival in Cadiz, we distributed 6,000 flyers hand to hand over four days and measured a 4.8% response, with 289 responses. The client reported 361 tickets sold during those same days.
It is one of several real event cases. Hand to hand distribution, near the entrance and in the days before, is the offline channel that responds best when the goal is selling tickets or filling a venue.
Three real event cases
Molan Los 90, Cadiz
6,000 flyers hand to hand over 4 days. 4.8% response, 289 responses, and 361 tickets sold during those days, according to the client.
Big Fun Museum, Barcelona
10,000 flyers hand to hand over 9 days. 3.3% response, more than 336 responses, and the number was still rising.
Barcelona Beer Festival
2,500 flyers distributed over 2.5 days, at the venue entrance.
The same pattern shows up in all three cases: hand to hand distribution at transport exits and busy streets near the venue, in the days before the event. Crews move to a different street each day, based on which zone responds best.
How to run a good campaign for your event
These are the rules that repeat across all three cases.
Near the entrance and transport
Distribute at transport exits and near the entrance, in the days before the event. That is where your audience is, right before they decide.
The busiest streets
Distribute on the busiest streets near the venue, not just any street in the area. Foot traffic density matters more than area covered.
Re-zone every day
Measure the response every day. If a street is not responding, move the crew to another one the next day.
Give the drop time
Larger volumes, like the Big Fun Museum campaign, need several days to build up response.
What you can expect: the real numbers
Across the three cases, hand to hand response ranged from 3.3% to 4.8%, with volumes from 2,500 to 10,000 flyers and drops lasting two and a half to nine days. We cannot promise the same number for your event, every venue and every date is different, but it is the real range we have today.
The minimum and the cost per customer
The minimum order is 10,000 flyers for hand to hand distribution and 25,000 mailboxes for door drops. We do not publish client campaign prices on this page. Work out your estimated cost per ticket or per customer in the simulator.
Frequently asked questions about offline marketing for events
Does hand to hand distribution work for selling event tickets?
Yes. At the Molan Los 90 festival in Cadiz, 6,000 flyers distributed hand to hand over four days produced a 4.8% response and 361 tickets sold during those days, according to the client. Hand to hand distribution near the entrance works well when the goal is selling out a venue.
Where should flyers be distributed for an event?
Near the venue entrance and at transport exits, in the days before the event. That is where people decide their plans right before the event, and it is where we measure the strongest responses.
How many days should distribution run before an event?
It depends on the volume. The Barcelona Beer Festival distributed 2,500 flyers over two and a half days. The Big Fun Museum distributed 10,000 flyers over nine days. The larger the volume, the more days the crew needs to cover it properly.
How much does a flyer campaign for an event cost?
We do not publish client campaign prices on this page, because cost depends on the venue size, the volume and the number of days. The minimum is 10,000 flyers hand to hand. Work out your cost per ticket in the simulator.
